Libey

Another branch of Weddendorfs that do not appear to be directly related to Herman Wilhelm Weddendorf. According to Lisa Beyer....

Fredrich Weddendorf (b. in Germany, d. before 1900) married Johanna Schnelle (b. in Germany) around 1880. They had at least 2 children, twins, Carl Fredrich Weddendorf and Emma Johanne Weddendorf (b. 23 May 1885).

Sophia Weddendorf

A search on FamilySearch for [Sophia Weddendorf] turns up:

Sophia Weddendorf (b. 12 Apr 1845, Germany; d. 26 Feb 1926, Morton, Renville, Minnesota)

A Minnesota Historical Society death certificate search for [first name starts with "soph"; year of death range 1926-1926; county Renville] turns up:

MANSECKE, SOPHIA
Date of Death: 02/26/1926
County of Death: RENVILLE

It would seem, then, that the Sophia Weddendorf from FamilySearch is the the Sophia Mansecke from MHS. However, I can find no information on the surname Mansecke to determine if Sophia Mansecke had children, or who her spouse might have been.

Herman Wilhelm Weddendorf

Herman Wilhelm Weddendorf (b. 23 Dec 1848, d. 29 Mar 1916), emigrated to the United States with his sister, Sohpia (b. 12 Apr 1845, d. 26 Feb 1926), from Germany in 1866. They came on the barque Anna, and their birthplace is listed as Ladbergen.

Herman Wilhelm Weddendorf's parents are listed as Johan Adolph Weddendorf and Christina Elsabein Kuckherman on baptismal records of Ladbergen.

Through some deduction, it was determined that Johan Adolph Weddendorf (b. 13 Mar 1816) is the son of Johan Eberhard Weddendorf and Anna Christina Suhren, along with older siblings Heinrich Rudolph (b. 8 Oct 1809) and Wilhelm Adolph (b. 18 July 1813).

Johan Eberhard Weddendorf (b. 15 Sep 1788, d. 23 May 1844) is listed as the son of Ernst Rudolph.
